The actual Minecraft game does benifit from this. It allows you to have multiple, cleanly separated instances of Minecraft (each with their own mods, resource packs, saves, etc) and helps you manage them and their associated options with a simple and powerful interface. I removed Icedtea and got Oracle and it doesn’t seem to work. There's no advantage for MultiMC to be made for 64 bit systems since it doesn't need the advantages 64 bit provides.
